Description

According to the Institute of Medicine (IOM) report, Relieving Pain in America (2011) pain is the primary reason individuals seek medical and nursing care. Providing optimal, holistic care to these individuals can represent a complex endeavor, which necessitates a call to action among nurses. At this continuing education event, we will discuss recommendations from the IOM, National Institutes of Health (NIH), and CDC, speak to the science behind biopsychosocial models of pain, bring forward evidence based strategies for providing patient centered care, and provide tangible ways for you to implement these strategies into your practice.

Following the CE, join UP alumni at the School of Nursing Open House in Buckley Center. Light refreshments will be provided.
